LongDescription
Embark on a fascinating journey into the world of egg-laying animals with the High Park Eggventure: Who Lays What? This family-friendly event, hosted by the High Park Nature Centre, invites participants of all ages to explore the incredible adaptations and challenges faced by creatures that lay eggs.
Taking place on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, this interactive experience is both educational and fun. Guided by knowledgeable facilitators, participants will learn about eggs found high in nests, buried underground, and everywhere in between. Using props, pictures, and models, the event sheds light on the diversity of egg-layers in the park.
Please note, this is not an Easter egg hunt, and actual eggs laid by animals in High Park will not be disturbed. Instead, it's an opportunity to enjoy a hands-on learning experience filled with "egg-citing" nature facts.
The event begins at the High Park Nature Centre's Forest School Building, located at 375 Colborne Lodge Drive. High Park is closed to cars on weekends, but the Nature Centre is easily accessible via TTC or a short walk from High Park Subway Station. Parking is available near Grenadier Cafe for those driving.
Tickets are $10 per person, and pre-registration is required to ensure availability. Walk-ins are not guaranteed, and attendees are encouraged to register in advance. Accessibility accommodations are available upon request, although some uneven terrain and mild slopes may be part of the hike.
Whether you're a nature enthusiast or simply curious about the wonders of wildlife, this event offers a "shell of a good time." Make it a day to remember with the High Park Eggventure: Who Lays What?
